Edward Martin's Jesus In India is a lengthly inquiry into the life of Jesus while between the ages of 12 and 30. He describes the criticism he received from the people in his community in Lampasa, Texas for questioning established doctrine, yet he relentlessly perused his inspired curiosity. His travels take him all over the world, visiting Buddhist and Hindu monasteries who explain the life of St. Issa, a reference to Jesus.

The Biography Channel's documentary delves into Jesus' travel to India along trade routes where he could have encountered the teachings of Buddha, and even to Glastonbury in southern England with Joseph of Arimathea where he is purported to have met with Druids. Also included is information about his involvement, along with John the Baptist, with the Essenes.
